This is a little bit late, but in case anyone hasn't seen it, Nintendo and Tecmo-Koei have announced a Fatal Frame spinoff for the 3DS! The title is Spirit Camera: The Haunted Notebook. It has a website here, with a trailer and some pictures, and it's going to use the 3DS's AR functions.

And conversely, this may be a little early, but for anyone who might be interested, Beyond the Camera's Lens is going to run a Christmas fanworks exchange of sorts. The format will be based on [livejournal.com profile] fandom_stocking, and it'll be very low-pressure; you don't have to be creative yourself to sign up for gifts! All you need is an account at the BCL forums. Once you're logged in, look for the "BCL Secret Santa" forum at the bottom of the page. I hope to see you there!

I meant to post about this earlier, but better late than never! Recently Emi from Beyond the Camera's Lens asked Makoto Shibata on Twitter which ending of FF3 was the true one, and he answered!

Is anyone still unspoiled for FF3? )

As most of you will probably know already, some very dedicated people have been working on a translation patch for Fatal Frame IV. Main project website can be found here, with lots of information and extra treats. :)

I've been helping out with some final patch testing and editing, and if nothing dramatic goes wrong, the patch ought to be released very soon! I don't know about you, but I'm excited. Through some technical magic I don't understand, the patch does away with region-locking, so you will be able to play the Japanese disc on a US or PAL Wii, and the patch is extremely easy to use - so easy even I managed it.

There is also a fan-made dub expansion in the works, for those who'd like to play entirely in English, though this will be 100% optional. It's still in the early stages, but you can learn more about it here.

In short, if anybody's been waiting to get a copy of the game, now's a very good time! Members at Beyond the Camera's Lens have been posting discount codes for PlayAsia here for people to use.
